-Short Classes
-Having classes with people I love
-Having very little homework
-The Sun

Things I didn't love about today:
-Lines at the bookstore
-Lines everywhere
-Class
-Chapter (later)
-Lingering [bad/hurt] feelings
-Waking up to drunk(?) frat boys and their alcohol

wishing I were indifferent

Sitting at home I can't stop thinking about you. I get dressed and put on something I think you'd like. I know I probably won't see you today. I probably won't see you all week. So I do my hair and makeup in an attempt to forget about you for a minute. This doesn't suffice. I wonder if you like my hair straight and down or up or curly. You probably wouldn't even know the difference. I miss you. I can't stop thinking about you and your indifference. I want to be distracted.

P.S. I got 4.0s in TWO of my classes this quarter. I was excited beyond belief. You didn't care.

Prospective

I'm legitimately excited about going to the bars in Hood River tonight with people I graduated from High School with! It should be the most exciting thing that has happened to me today. Well, that and making deer for dinner with my dad (and not having to eat Eddie's rendition of sorority food!).

I guess today has been a pretty typical White Salmon/Hood River day.

my day so far:
-Coffee (and gossip) at Ground
-doing nothing with my life (and seeing Sean, who I love/missed) at IPS
-Reading
-Working Out
-Playing with Snack
-Watching DVDs

super phenomenal.

Homeland

so excited for [food]:
-crab and shrimp baguette from the lunch menu at the Hood River Inn
-Letter B from the Golden Rose
-Pear & Walnut salad from 6th St.
-Coffee from Ground
-Bagel Co.
-Full Sail Beer

On that note, I am also extremely excited about going out in Hood River with all of my favorite people and being hit on by 40-year-old men.

English Major

It's hard to understand why I would want to write for fun after I just spent literally the entire day writing 10 pages of essays because I had to, but whatever. I'm just slightly behind the schedule I set for myself for finals (you know, the one where I'm completely done tomorrow and that way I can do whatever I want tomorrow night, pack/work Tuesday and leave Wednesday morning after work). I'm pretty proud of myself. I am not, however, proud of my stupid computer. It keeps making this really obnoxious fan noise, like all the time. I think it gets too hot and then this fan turns on (which is really really loud and distracting) and then I have to turn off my computer for like 10 minutes to let it cool down, so it can work for like 10 more minutes without making the sound. It's really frustrating during a time like finals when I'm already stressed out. Not to self: take computer in to get it looked at over glorious glorious spring break in the homeland!
So, my little sis, Leslie, comes back from her quarter abroad in Italy today. And, I get to see her tomorrow! I'm so excited! She is one of my favorite people and I've missed *my computer just started the fan noise again* her so much for the past three months!
Anyway, now I'm off to bed so I can wake up at 6:30am to go babysit Claire and Joe, take them to school, come home, eat breakfast (quickly) and then go babysit Abbey for 4 hours. Sounds like an awesome morning to me. And, if you think that's great, afterwards I get to edit my finals for a few hours until they're up to my standards, shower, turn them in, and then have a little chat about my status with my significant other, or ex significant other, or whatever. Sweet dreams.

catch and release

today someone told me:

"you're so great.. I total fucked that up.. you are a great catch.. I honestly miss you"

too bad it wasn't the person I wish would realize that.

anticipation

My life is in this major state of anticipation right now. I'm anticipating the time when finals are done, Joel and I are happy again, I don't have to see the brats for two weeks and I'm back in White Salmon working at Ground as a Senior in college. Awesome.
It has taken me basically two days to write a paper [which I have] titled: "The Components of Identity", for my American Indian Studies/English class mainly because I'm super un-motivated and would rather sit around watching tv (which I never, ever do) and thinking about how miserable I am, but also because this paper had to be written in my personal voice. Don't you think that's maybe a little too informal for a 400-Level English class? Anyway, this is a paper about the components I believe are important to my identity (this is obviously some really tough stuff). I'm going crazy.
Anyway, I guess that I'd better go write something because I have to, not because I want to now. That way I'll be able to hang out with Sister Erin at my house-sitting-house later and make cookies (or something equally amazing and terrible all at the same time).

maybe I love you too much...
