1. Dustin got home from a work trip in Washington DC really late Thursday night. As a result we slept in until 1:30pm on Friday. WHAT THE WHAT? Madness. I felt like a teenager.
After our excessive slumber, we spent the day cleaning his apartment and then going for a leisurely walk (that resulted in a beer break at the Park Pub and then another one at the French Restaurant across the street from his apartment). Walks are my favorite! So good! Especially when the weather is nice(ish) and there are beer breaks.
2. This last weekend, Art, Amy, Dustin and I took an impromptu trip to Canada. More specifically, we went to Vancouver B.C. and spent all of Saturday on Granville Island.
We also spent some time stopping along the way to go outlet shopping, Cabellas browsing and Boomer’s Drine In eating!
When we got to Granville Island, though, we walked around in the sun, visited all the little shops, ate food, drank beers and the boys smoked Cuban cigars at the end of the evening.
3. Also this weekend I got obsessed with the idea of making ice cream. So on Sunday Dustin and I drove to Renton (to Wal Mart, naturally, why else go to Renton?) to buy me an ice cream maker. I then spent the rest of that day and a lot of Monday making ice cream.
And on Sunday night while I was waiting for my ice cream to harden, Dustin and I finally watched the season finale of SNL we missed. Mic Jagger? Kristen Wig’s last episode? SO GOOD YOU GUYS! Am I right?
Anyway… back to the ice cream! I made both rhubarb ice cream and mint oreo! They were GOOD! (I’ll be eating ice cream for days weeks).
4. Monday was spent deep cleaning the Corolla (it looks so gooood now – thanks Dustin), shopping at Fred Meyer and GRILLING, because it was Memorial Day after all (and yes I know the real meaning, but it would have seemed un-American not to grill SOMETHING).
Look at this guy with his cigar and his brats! Love love (him and the brats, not so much the cigar but I deal)!
And that was our super long, 4 day weekend. It was really relaxing and just what I needed before a crazy 9 weeks of bar prep!
