The Best Parking Attendant Story, Ever.
Yesterday I was on my way to school. I had parked my car on 14th in the zoned 2 hour parking area and was walking down Columbia to the Law School Annex. I looked across the street on Columbia and saw a parking attendant car parked across the street behind a car. I was all “why is that meter maid parked there? I thought Columbia was un-zoned? Am I missing something?” But as I got closer I noticed a car blatantly parked right behind this sign that says DO NOT PARK WEST OF HERE, OR ELSE!! So I was all “dumbass, who does that?” because clearly I’m super kind when I think to myself.
But then just as I was thinking that, I see a fellow law student sprinting up the middle of the street shouting “NO NO NO NO!” I again thought “dumbass”. The kid (BTW if you go to school with me, and you ask, I’ll tell you who it was, it might make the story that much better) proceeds to sprint to his car, unlock it and get inside. The parking attendant then gets out of his little parking car after honking his horn a few times, and is like, “dude, don’t leave”. At this point most rational people would admit defeat, right? Right.
Nope. The kid then proceeds to turn his car on and shift in reverse, while I stop on the sidewalk to watch, because you know, that’s what I do. Anyway, he shifts into reverse, slams on the gas, speeds backwards and RAMS into the little parking attendant car causing it to slide backwards! He hit it so hard I was honestly surprised it didn’t flip over. Then the kid shifts into drive AND SPEEDS AWAY! While the cop was watching! The cop then gets on his walkie talkie and starts shouting to someone on the other end. I definitely LOLed. I know it was probably wrong of me, but I couldn’t help it.
Then I resumed my walk toward class and asked myself “WHO DOES THAT?” Like really though, who? Especially when you have to apply to take the bar in like a year and a half. AND even if you didn’t have to apply to take the bar, who hit and runs a cop car, with the cop watching? Oh man. It totally made my day.
