Whole Foods Love Affair

I don’t know if I’ve ever told you this before, but I love Whole Foods. I love walking in and smelling that Whole Foods smell. I love the way the produce is arranged. I love their bakery. I love the wine and cheese sections right next to each other. I love that you can buy so many different kinds of kombucha there. I love all the gluten free food. And I love that they sell the most delicious wine for only $2.99.

I also love these Fish-y Friendz I found while I was there today:

I know most of the time Whole Foods is crazy expensive, but there is something so comforting about it. Also, I’ve fallen victim to the idea that everything that comes from Whole Foods has to be healthy, right? Right. So that totally makes it worth the ridiculous price, right? Right.

Today I went there for salad (case in point: salad is totes healthy). Just salad. And maybe a few bottles of that $3 wine. And some brussel sprouts (only like 8). But that was it. Right, like that was ever going to happen. I came out with $50 worth of things. Ohhh Whole Foods, you get me every time.

I got some delicious salad (with candied walnuts and dried cranberries and bleu cheese) for lunch:

And also, I got this 4-pack of beer. Which I totally justified buying due to the fact that I’ve been wanting to try it for about 3 weeks now. AND I also justified buying it because, well, it’s Pumpkin Beer!

Pumpkin Beer is so so delicious. And also Dogfish Head makes delicious beer just in general (it better be considering this 4-pack was like $14). So it must be a winning combo, right? I’m really excited to try it out. Maybe it’ll calm my raging week-long headache (or are you not supposed to drink when you have concussion related headaches? I guess we’ll see).

Also side note: I just saw that Dogfish Head recently brewed a small batch in celebration of Pearl Jam’s 20th Anniversary (in case you didn’t already know, I love Pearl Jam). Definitely want to try that one too. Add it to the list.

So yes, now you know, I want to shout it from the rooftops, I LOVE WHOLE FOODS!

But I suppose my blog will suffice. I’ll shout it from my blog instead: I LOVE WHOLE FOODS!

OK, I’ll stop shouting at you through the internet. Besides, it’s probably time to go drink my newly acquired immune booster Yogi Tea (thanks Whole Foods) out of my Pendleton mug (thanks Professor Eberhard) and get ready for my Intellectual Property class.

Lolz

Just stumbled across this little gem and had a good LOL:

Also: currently I am at the law clinic waiting on my client to get here for our initial meeting with him. We have Omnibus on Thursday, so clearly we're really prepared. I guess that's what you get when your client doesn't show up to your scheduled meetings. I think we have a good chance of actually seeing him today seeing as he called Kyle a little bit ago and asked if we could meet a little early today. Waiting waiting now. Ohhh juvenile delinquents, so much fun!

In other news, I totally skipped my last class today. I skipped because before class I had to go to the pharmacy and while I was there I started feeling really dizzy and nauseous and confused. It was awful. I didn't even really feel ok to drive home, but I did anyway because I'm a rebel (and because I didn't know how else to get home). And then I laid on my bed and tried not to vomit or spin off onto the floor until my clinic partner, Kyle, called me and told me that our client wanted to meet us earlier than expected. Then I got up, tried to pull my ish together, and came to school so we could finally have our client meeting. Now I'm waiting. Clearly this isn't a very good story.

On a more coherent (maybe, I'm not actually making any promises) note: Marissa is on Twitter and you should follow her (@OneLoneMagpie), because she is awesome

K that's all, byee.

Headaches & Monday & Pictures

I have been all complain, complain, complain lately and I'm sorry for that. But oh my, my head still hurts from my concussion. And today my doctor told me that this headache could last for months. Um, unacceptable? Also I've been learning the hard way that it's difficult to be positive when you're physically in pain. I need to do something about this ASAP. I'm just not sure what that I should do yet... does anyone have any good headache remedies (IB proufin just isn't cutting it)?

Anyway, here are some more Danielle and Steffen Wedding pictures (because like I said before, pictures make everything better - in blog world at least):

The wedding party took golf carts to the beach for pictures. I took two glasses of champagne along for the ride.
Also, happy Monday everyone. CLICK HERE for a free music download (because free music Mondays are good).

Lamest Friday Night

It's Friday night. My head & body still hurt. I have 9 hours of Mock hearings for my youth advocacy clinic tomorrow. I'm definitely not looking forward to that. So, instead of practicing my opening statement (which apparently I'm supposed to have mostly memorized) I'm being really, really bored and blogging and watching T.V.

Law student of the year, right here.

But here are some more pictures from last weekend. Because that makes everything better, right?

ER Trip

Yesterday morning I was being a big complainer about being in a bad mood for no reason, blah blah blah. Well I went to class, and that sucked, then I got rained on, then I went to a meeting and then I was heading home for some lunch and a nap before my late afternoon nap. And that's when it happened. I was rear-ended. And it sucked the most. And immediately after it happened and I was no longer being jolted forward and backward, the pain started. So after the obligatory exchange of information and her apologizing a million times and me calling my insurance company, I went to the Emergency Room. Because oh my gosh, it hurt so bad. I drove myself there, thinking I was mostly fine. I parked in the garage, got out and started to feel dizzy and confused. I went in and explained what happened to the intake person and gave him my debit card when he asked for my I.D. Needless to say I was then immediately rushed into the back and put into this:

A neck brace. And it was really really uncomfortable. And so not my best look ha. But after about 4 hours of waiting and X-Rays and tests and things, they told me my neck wasn't broken and I they took it off of me. Happiest moment of my day. Then a while later I got to come home. And then Dustin came and got me and made me a Cheesesteak for dinner and it was good. And he also woke me up in the night to make sure my concussion wasn't killing me. But before that, after the hospital I felt all weird and stupid (like, I couldn't think/speak like normal, and then I asked Dustin if that is what lots of people feel like all the time, and he said probably but most people probably don't know that it's weird to be thinking that slowly b/c that's what they always feel like, then I felt a little bad about that convo, like I was a bad person), and then I slept for 10 hours and now I'm sore and pissed and I have a headache, but things could be worse. Things could definitely be worse. At least the Doctor told me I couldn't go to school today, so I get to stay home and watch Sex in the City and other things that are on TV during the day, and take IB proufin and eat noodles. Noodles are delicious.

Wednesday Morning Thingz

Usually I love chocolate peanut butter overnight oats. But this morning, they aren't doing it for me. Maybe it's because I woke up grumpy (for no real reason) this morning? Or maybe it's because I stuffed my face at Dustin's last night with a cheese steak sandwich (he used to live in Philly so it was extra legit), and about a million french fries dipped in cheese sauce and/or gravy. Fat kid status for sure. At least I didn't like the shrimp french fry cheesy sandwich he made (it tasted only like pickles which are yuck) or I probably would have eaten all of that too. I need to learn some self control. And I need to learn that when I eat that much for dinner (at like 9:30pm), nothing is going to taste good the next day.

Anyway, I was sitting here being all bummed because my breakfast is lame and because I'm having a grumpy morning, and then, these pictures from Danielle and Steffen's wedding photographer, posted on facebook:

Isn't half moon bay the prettiest?

Anyway, now I need to go get ready for class, I guess. Even though that doesn't sound like fun. Ha!

This Weekend via Instagram

This weekend was busy, and when it ended I was more tired than when it started. I spent all day Friday doing work at school for my clinic. Talk about time suckage. I did manage to go on a mini-date with Dustin to Bastille in Ballard. I’ve been wanting to go there for a long time now. Had I not been suffering one of the worst stomach aches of my life (no exaggeration, I almost cried in the restaurant), I think I would have enjoyed it much more. I had the Croque Monsieur, and they gave us pom frites to share. And also we got baguette and Dustin had muscles and I had wine too. Looking back I’m sure that dinner just made my stomach ache worse. I shouldn’t eat bread. Or cheese. Or french fries. But the restaurant was super romantic and awesome and other than my pain I liked it. Dates with Dustin are the best.

Early Saturday morning I woke up and drove down to Portland for my cousin Katie’s baby shower. I got there 2 hours early (thanks mom for telling me the wrong time) and then killed two hours in Gresham. Part of it I spent laying in my car because my stomach STILL hurt. So then I took this picture so that you could know how I was feeling, and because I am the epitome of cool:

Katie and Tot (that’s what I call him) got a ton of cute stuff at the shower. He’s spoiled already. I love it! I can’t wait to meet my littlest cousin (and also, I’m pretty sure he’s going to be born on my birthday!! his due date is only 3 days after, c’mon Tot!).

Also, doesn’t this onesie crack you up? Ha!

After the shower I drove back to Hood River for Hops Fest. I drank many samples of fresh hop beerz with my friends, and it was good. And did I mention that I definitely wasn’t doing homework while I was drinking? Because I wasn’t. And I didn’t even feel that bad about it. Also I was super jeal of Beth’s amazing outfit (stripes, boots, pleated maxi dress? yes please)!

Then hops fest ended at 9pm with some Tony Smiley and me rushing and pushing my way to the front of the crowd for one last dancy song.

Next we went to the Pub (obvious choice). And I found Marissa! YAY! Finally! I had missed her at Hops Fest because she was moving. I don’t want to talk about it. Any of it. (ha, so dramatic):

After that we just had a standard night out in Hood River.

The next morning I spent some quality time with my favorite kitty (Fluffy Face). He tried to drink from my glass (after I snuck him into our house). So silly.

Then I drove back to Seattle on Sunday. Yesterday I suppose it was. And now I’m so so tired. I need a day to recover from my weekend, I think.

But then, in the midst of my tiredness this morning, I found this little buddy on my walkway, and I liked it:

Now I’m making venison stew. Nom nom. Hello Fall. Hello busy busy week filled with stew for every meal? Probably. Oh the life of a law student…
